The Act allows you to apply for an exemption to possess or use a firearm or ammunition at an approved rifle club, pistol shooting club or range, subject to conditions.
Section 155 (1B) says that once you have made and signed a written application for such an exemption, you are authorised to possess or use a firearm approved for use at that club or range for the purpose of participating in one shooting activity on one day at that club or range.
Once the application is approved and the exemption issued, the exemption will authorise you to continue to participate in club/range shooting activities, for a period of 6 months only.
