Other exemptions may also be issued from time to time depending on the nature of the request. For instance, exemptions have been previously issued in respect to people who:
- are required to occasionally handle firearms in the course of specific employment
- wish to use starting pistols and similar devices in sporting events
- wish to use imitation firearms for various theatrical productions
- wish to display permanently deactivated prohibited firearms in museums, RSL clubs and similar premises.
