Once you have received your ‘Category A, Reason 6’ Firearms licence you can apply for a Certificate of Registration as a Paintball Operator.
The application form for the certificate of registration can be obtained by attending Service Tasmania.
The application for the certificate of registration requires you to provide various elements of documentation including proof of: council approval to operate a paintball business at a designated address, business name and address, indemnity insurance, Australian Company Number, first aid kit/qualifications and ownership of a ballistic chronograph.
Tasmania Police will process the application for registration, usually within two weeks.
Tasmania Police will conduct an inspection of the firearms storage facilities, usually within one week of the request.
TasTAFE will conduct a range inspection as part of a scheduled program determined by them.
After the inspections have been successfully completed Tasmania Police will issue you the Certificate of Registration as a Paintball Operator.
The certificate will usually be issued within one week of notification of completion of the inspections.
Once you receive the Certificate of Registration as a Paintball Operator you are legally able to commence business.
